Lifetime Achievement Awards
VK has the distinction of being amongst the few people who have been awarded more than one Lifetime Achievement awards for their contributions to their field of expertise by receiving six lifetime awards, including an award recognizing his contributions to marketing in the past 25 years from the American Marketing Association and a Fellowship from ISBM recognizing his contributions and thought leadership in the Business-to-Business Domain.
VK was recently awarded the 2009 AMA Retailing SIG Lifetime Achievements Award for his contributions to Retailing by the American Marketing Association's Retailing Special Interest Group.

VK was recently awarded the 2009 AMA Marketing Research SIG Churchill Lifetime Achievements Award for his contributions to Marketing Research by the American marketing Association's Marketing Research Special Interest Group. He will accept both awards during the Summer AMA Educator's Conference to be held at Chicago, IL in August 2009.

Dr. V Kumar was recently awarded the 2009 AMA 25 Year Consortium Fellow Research Excellence Award for Scholarly Achievements and Contributions to Marketing Thought and Practice at the Summer AMA Doctoral Consortium held at Atlanta, Georgia. VK is one of the four scholars to have received this prestigious award from the American Marketing Association.

VK was recognized as the Institute for the Study of Business Markets (ISBM) Fellow for his accomplishments and thought leadership in the Business to Business Domain in August, 2008 at SMEAL College of Business, Pennsylvania State University, PA.

Professor V. Kumar is the recipient of the 2007 AMA Strategy SIG Mahajan Award for Lifetime Contributions to Marketing Strategy. The Vijay Mahajan Award is named after marketing professor Vijay Mahajan to honor his career contributions and advancements in marketing strategy. Each year the AMA strategy SIG selects a marketing educator who has made sustained contributions to the literature on marketing strategy for 10 or more years.

Professor V. Kumar also received the 2007 AMA IOSIG Lifetime Contribution Award for his research on Inter Organizational Issues. The Inter Organizational Special Interest Group (IOSIG) is a group within AMA designed to facilitate interaction among academic members of the AMA with an interest in channels of distribution, business-to-business marketing, and business alliances. The IOSIG chose Professor V. Kumar and Professor Bart Weitz (University of Florida) as the recipients of this inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award.
